A huge number of employees in New York State who started new jobs when the pandemic began in March of 2020 have still never met their co-workers in person.
The COVID-19 pandemic has been really tough on businesses, and especially on small, independent shops. Another business in New Hartford appears to have closed as a result of the pandemic.
Previously, customers are greeted to the store front by a giant sign that says "Mello's Subs -The Original-" with a giant sandwich. Today, the store front looked a little bit different from what we have seen before.
Portrait Innovations, based in North Carolina, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in 2017. The business had over 100 locations at the time of its bankruptcy filing. Now, the chain has gone off the grid.
The decision was made to “preserve the existing stores, 350 employees and continue providing great products at reasonable prices to the Central New York community,” according to their press release.
