DJ Duo ‘The Chainsmokers’ Have an Interesting Tie to Central New York
The Chainsmokers are the DJs responsible for hits like "Closer," "Don't Let Me Down," and "Roses," and they have a very unique tie to our area.
The group started off with two members, Alexander Pall from Westchester County, New York, and DJ Rhett Bixler. Unfortunately Rhett Bixler left the duo back in 2012, but that left a spot open for a new DJ, Andrew Taggart.
Andrew Taggart is originally from Freeport, Maine, but it's safe to say he spent some quality time in Central New York. Taggart actually graduated from Syracuse University back in 2012, before he joined The Chainsmokers! How cool is that?!
It's pretty great to see musicians and other stars make it big, and still have a tie to our area. It gives us just one more thing to be proud of. If you're not too familiar with The Chainsmokers, you can check out some of their videos below.
