The Most Popular Shoplifted Items

Growing up my parents always taught us to never lie, cheat, or steal. I’m not much of a shoplifter, and I don’t think my sisters are either. But people out there are crazy sometimes, let’s be honest for a second, the whole world is crazy.

Apparently shoplifting has increased from last year according to Ad Week. A recent survey was released listing the top 10 items people shoplift. Some of the products will surprise you. People will steal anything and everything from meat to puppets.

Our friends over at The Daily Mail have put together a list of the most popular shoplifted items, here’s what they found:

1. Expensive cuts of meat
2. Expensive bottles of alcohol
3. Electric items including toothbrushes and DIY tools
4. Electronic gadgets such as video games, smartphones and laptops
5. Razor blades, particularly Gillette Mach 4
6. Axe brand deodorants and body washes
7. Designer clothing including Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger
8. Let’s Rock Elmo toy
9. Perfumes including Chanel No. 5
10. Trainers by Nike and Addidas

It always amazes me what people will steal. I know people steal the big ticket items, but cuts of meat? Let’s Rock Elmo? I didn’t know it was 1998 again and Elmo was a hot ticket!
