It's the first weekend of fall, and not only has the summer season ended, the summer temperatures we have been enjoying are leaving as well.  To gardeners, that f-word, "frost" is in the forecast for the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, Saturday night's forecast calls for clear skies and then patchy frost.  The low temperature is expected to be 35 degrees.  Sunday morning's forecast is also calling for the chance of early morning frost.

It's expected that any frost will appear in the areas of higher elevation.  Gardeners should take note that sensitive plants should be covered.

The weather service is also telling us that the warmer days and very cool nights will also help create fog.  Fall is the time of year when we see the most fog here in Upstate New York.
