Top 5 Places to Visit in CNY During the Fall

Living in Central New York, you may not know what places are right in your own backyard! With Fall just around the corner, we can explore the great places that CNY has to offer! Here are the top 5 places to visit right here in Central New York!

5. Highland Forest

Highland Forest is a great place to ride horses through the woods and enjoy the nature while riding horseback! With the leaves changing during the Fall this is a great relaxing way to enjoy the season. It is the oldest county park and contains more than six square miles of forest. Located at 1254 Highland Forest Rd. in Fabius.

4. Ausable Chasm

Whether you like hiking or just plain site seeing, the waterfall and surrounding areas at Ausable Chasm is a beautiful and scenic place to go! Located at 644 Route 373 in Keeseville.

3. Old Forge

Old Forge is a very beautiful town and place to go during the Fall. With plenty of lakes and tourist attractions Old Forge has plenty to do. One of my favorite things to do in Old Forge during the Fall is take a nice scenic train ride.

Apple Picking! Who doesn't love to go apple picking in the Fall! North Star Orchards is the perfect place that isn't to far to enjoy a wagon ride and picking some delicious and fresh apples! Located at 4741 RT 233 in Westmoreland.

1. Critz Farms

Critz Farms has so much to do and enjoy in the Fall. Starting in mid September and continuing into late October, Critz Farms has its annual Fall Harvest Celebration. Every weekend they have fun and special events to enjoy! During their fall celebration they have live music & entertainment with great food at the Critz Café along with their Balsam Barn Gift Shop. Of course that is great entertainment, but they also have hayrides to the apple orchard or pumpkin field that you can pick yourself, a corn maze and some delicious fresh sweet apple cider too! The fun doesn't stop there either! They also have Critz Critter Animal Area petting zoo with over 25 animals, cow train rides, slide mountain playgrounds and a kiddie corral for the kids! No way you can get bored here! Located at 3232 Rippleton Road State Route 13 in Cazenovia.
