We’ve mostly stayed away from any ‘Two and a Half Men’ hubbub since Charlie Sheen’s crazy days settled down, and Angus T. Jones similarly talked himself out of a job, but with the CBS comedy’s series finale firmly set for February 19, we’re at least curious if Charlie Sheen can negotiate a return appearance. Judging by Ashton Kutcher’s coy performance in a recent ‘Ellen’ interview, that looks to be the case.
“I don’t know if I’m allowed to talk about it,” Kutcher teased of the ‘Two and a Half Men’ finale, adding that they’d not yet shot the twelfth season closer. “I’m scared. Yeah, I’m a little terrified.” Kutcher’s candor naturally lead Ellen to question if Charlie Sheen’s rumored return might be the source of his terror, to which the former ‘That ‘70s Show’ star overwhelmingly seemed to nod along, suggesting sirens on the Warner lot could spell trouble for anyone passing by the shoot.
Sheen had been infamously let go in 2011 for his offscreen behavior and insults against series creator Chuck Lorre, though the character Charlie Harper has returned from the grave on multiple instances, albeit with ‘American Horror Story’ star Kathy Bates in the role (Bates even won an Emmy for it). Sheen has also been observed to share social media antagonism against Kutcher for stepping into the series, though the animosity would seem to have cooled, to allow Sheen back into the finale.
No doubt Sheen’s reprisal would turn a few heads for the February 19 finale, but what say you? Should ‘Two and a Half Men’ stick to the reboot as it slinks toward the end, or bring back the real Charlie for one last hurrah? Watch the interview for yourself above, and give us your take in the comments.
