Upstate NY Hit By Tornado This Week
An EF1 tornado reportedly touched-down in the upstate town of Wappinger on Wednesday. Wappinger is in Dutchess County, south of Albany.
According to poughkeepsiejournal.com, the National Weather Service in Albany has confirmed that a tornado with winds of 100 mph did touch down on Wednesday evening. The twister was nearly a quarter-mile wide and covered a mile-and--quarter while on the ground.
Before the funnel cloud touched-down, there were reports of golf-ball sized hail and heavy rain in that region of the state as well.
