Utica Spring Carnival This Weekend

It's a sure sign of spring, the annual Youth Empowerment Project Utica Spring Carnival.  The event is underway now and running until Sunday at the Parkway Recreation Center.

The carnival opens at 6:00 tonight and at Noon on both Saturday and Sunday.

The event supports a fantasic local organization, the Youth Empowerment Project:

Youth Empowerment Project, Inc. was founded in 1998 on the porch of an old farmhouse. Executive Director Barbara Gaston, wanted to help children with behavioral problems  control their inappropriate behavior. The program was for children with behavioral problems who hadn't committed crimes, but whose parents had reached a point where they didn't know how to handle them.
