Utica’s Observer Dispatch Bicentennial Bash Postponed
If you were planning on eating a ton of Honest John's hot dogs tomorrow, looks like you'll have to wait for another day.
Due to the forecast of rain and thunderstorm, officials at the Utica Observer Dispatch have decided to postpone their 200th Anniversary Birthday Bash. After discussing the forecast with local meteorologists, they determined the weather really does pose a challenge for the outdoor activities, and the safety of the guests.
A lot of time and effort went into the planning of this celebration, and we want to make sure the quality and magnitude of the event is not compromised. (Katie Giacovelli - Marketing & Events Manager for the O-D)
They are planning to reschedule the event soon and we will bring you more details when we hear. When the new event happens, they will still hold the Honest John's Hot Dog eating contest with a first prize of $500. There will also be Saranac beverages, free mini-half moons for the first 600 guests, food trucks and lots of stuff for the kids to do.
How many hot dogs could you eat for $500? Remember, it's all about speed.
