Were you one of the thousands of people at the Mohegan Sun Grandstands last night? I was! Yes, I’m paying for being up late last night but it was completely worth it! Last night performing at the New York State Fair was Maroon 5 and Train with Gavin DeGraw.

Now I’m going to warn you now, I’m a HUGE Gavin DeGraw fan. He is always amazing in concert and last night was proof. He came out singing his song “In Love With A Girl” off of his second album ‘Gavin DeGraw’. He teased the audience with several new songs off his upcoming CD ‘Sweeter’ which is due out September 20th. Which also included his new single “Not Over You” co-written by Ryan Tedder of One Republic. He ended his performance with his first hit “I Don’t Want To Be” which is the theme song to ‘One Tree Hill’. All I have to say is; you might have heard Gavin DeGraw on radio but that doesn’t compare to how he sounds live. I highly recommend everyone to see him in concert. You will be AMAZED!

After a 15 minute stage setup Train came on stage to the sound of a train chugging and whistling. I’ve never seen them in concert before so I was pretty excited. They were great. Pat Monahan has a great stage presence. He’s very interactive with the audience. He had several girls come up on stage for one song and took a camera from a camera man to film the audience. When they performed “Marry Me” he walked throughout the track level high fiving the fans. At the end of the song there was a marriage proposal and he had the camera man put them up on the screens on the sides of the stage.  They sang all their hits including “Meet Virginia” along with their latest single “Save Me, San Francisco” and more. They ended the show with “Drops of Jupiter”.  After seeing them live I would definitely see them again.

We had about a half hour wait for the stage crew to completely change the stage for Maroon 5. They opened their show with their latest hit “Moves Like Jagger”. They just rocked the house with it. They sang all their hits including “Hands All Over”, “Harder To Breathe”, “This Love” and more. They sprinkled in a few new songs off of their new album ‘Hands All Over’. Adam Levine was looking great as always. I’ve never seen Maroon 5 live before and they are really different then what you hear on the radio. Their live show is more edgy. They really knew how to rock the house with their music and the light show. They ended the show with “She Will Be Loved” which is one of my favorite Maroon 5 songs.

The entire night was amazing. The performances from Maroon 5, Train, and Gavin DeGraw really stand out. I’ve been to a lot of concerts and this one definitely is hovering around my number 1 or number 2 favorite concert!

Here are some pictures from the show in case you missed it!
