Not everyone on the planet will be ushering in 2014 in the exact same way.  No, there are some weird and unusual New Year's customs from around the globe that might have you wondering if the people who came up with them might have been celebrating a bit early. 

The New York Daily News has the scoop on some of these unusual New Year's traditions.

1.  In Mexico, Spain and Italy, revelers will be wearing red underwear to bring them good luck.

2.  Folks in Ireland bang on walls and doors with bread to keep evil spirits away.

3.  New Year's in Chile is spent in a cemetery to be with loved ones.

4.  Talking to the animals in Romania is supposed to bring happiness.

5.  A South African New Year tradition is throwing furniture out the window.

6.  This one has to take the cake for being not only weird but crazy.  In Siberia, jumping into a frozen lake while holding a tree trunk.  Like I said, crazy.
