A Western NY fire department saved a pizza from going to waste after the delivery guy was involved in a car accident by delivering it themselves.

Engine 642 of the Henrietta Fire Department, outside of Rochester, responded to a motor vehicle on Saturday, where one of the vehicles was a pizza delivery vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was transported from the scene by ambulance, leaving his pizza delivery incomplete.

According to a post on the department's Facebook page, "once the patient was cared for and loaded into the ambulance the crew decided to finish the delivery so the pizza wouldn't go to waste. Just down the road from the call they delivered the pizza and thanked the customer for deciding to order out and not risk burning food and setting off the fire alarm!"

No word on whether the firefighter got a big tip for going above and beyond the call of duty in the service of good pizza.
