Ifrits are a type of jinn (or geanie) in Arabic mythic traditions. The creature is made of fire. Traditionally, infrits can be either good or bad spirits.  In 'True Blood,' the infrit is attacking and burning members of a US military unit, including main character Terry Bellefleur, that massacred a Middle Eastern family.
