The National Weather Service Forecast has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Oneida, Madison, and Herkimer Counties until 6am Thanksgiving Day.

Snow showers throughout Wednesday afternoon, and into Wednesday night is going to bring some accumulation to the area. Snow is expected to be the heaviest this afternoon, and could possibly fall at a rate of an inch an hour.

Southern Oneida County including areas like Utica, Rome, and Waterville, looks like it could see the most snowfall, with totals between 4 and 8 inches.

Northern Oneida County is looking at totals between 2 and 6 inches of snow.

Madison County is expecting to see snow totals between 4 and 8 inches.

Northern and Southern Herkimer County could see totals between 3 and 8 inches for today, and into tomorrow. Higher totals are possible in the southeast Adirondacks.

With a Winter Weather Advisory in effect, travel may be a little difficult this afternoon and into tonight. Be careful if you are out on the roads, especially during heavy periods of snowfall- the roads could be slick, and visibility may be limited.

Be safe and have a happy Thanksgiving!
