Former American Idol Contestant Clay Aiken Is Running For Congress [VIDEO]

Clay Aiken is more than an artist you’ll hear on Lite 98.7 during the holiday season. He’s someone who feels he can make a difference in Washington. Clay Aiken has embarked on a new career, he wants to be a politician.

Clay has announced that he’s running for Congress as a Democrat in the state he grew up in, North Carolina. He’ll run against current Republican Representative Renee Ellmers .

You may recall that back in 2003, Clay Aiken finished in 2nd place on the popular singing show American Idol. Ruben Studdard won that race, but Clay hopes to win this one.
