If happened again, another fender bender at the corner of Bleeker and Mohawks streets in Utica, NY last night. My son and another driver clipped each other in the middle of the intersection both claiming they had the green light. But what do you do at an intersection with no traffic lights, where there is consistent pandemonium? It's a steady battle at this intersection in Ethiopia.

Route 51 in Ilion needs a little more work than originally thought.  Consequently, it will remain closed until week's end.

It is floods along the Mohawk today.  The National Weather Service says a River Flood warning along the Mohawk River, especially in Utica, is in effect until further notice.

Necessary bridge repairs are forcing several road closures and detours.

UPDATE: 9:07am 01/24/2014 The Thruway Authority is cancelling the advisory.  The left lane of traffic between Exit 32 and Exit 33 is no longer blocked.

Update: 01/08/2014 6:01am I-90 and I-190 are now re-opened to all traffic.

George Zimmerman -- yes the same Florida neighborhood watchman acquitted in the Trayvon Martin murder trial -- was pulled over for speeding on a highway near Dallas, Texas.

My son and I are shuffling off to Buffalo to spend the holiday weekend with family. July Fourth conjures up images of family, fireworks and hot dogs, but sitting in traffic should also be included in your plans. The roads may be somewhat congested.

Because of security concerns and flooding-related issues things will be done a little differently at this year's Independence Day events in Utica.
