Don't forget to pick up a teddy bear or other stuffed animal for this year's 'Teddy Bear Toss' during the Utica College Pioneers Men's Hockey Game in December.

If you've never been to the "Teddy Bear Toss Game," it's definitely a sight to see and an experience to be a part of. During a Utica College hockey game, after the Pioneers score their first goal of this specific game, teddy bears and other stuffed animals are thrown onto the ice. You may wonder why anyone would do this... Well, those toys are actually for a good cause. They get donated to children right here in Central New York, and that's with help from Operation Sunshine, Toys for Tots, and of course, New York Sash - the family-owned home improvement business, who have also been sponsors of this event since the beginning.

This year's Teddy Bear Toss Game happens on Saturday, December 1st, when the Utica College Pioneer Men's Hockey team takes on the Chatham University Cougars at the Adirondack Bank Center at the Utica Memorial Auditorium.

If you were thinking about going to this year's Teddy Bear Toss game, especially if you haven't been to one before, you'll definitely NOT want to wait to get your tickets. This event sells out every year. Tickets went on sale last Saturday (September 8th), and are available at: EmpireStateTickets.com or you can get them from the Utica AUD's Box Office. Cost is $7 per person.

And don't forget to bring a teddy bear if you're going to this game. Just a reminder, it does need to be a new toy.

According to New York Sash, over 30,000 stuffed animals have been donated from the Teddy Bear Toss games. If that isn't reason enough to want to go (and get excited for this game), we don't know what is. We hope to see you there on December 1st - And good luck to our Utica College Pioneers!
