It's being reported by CNN that President Barack Obama will announce this in tonight's State of the Union address. By this time next year, 34,000 U.S. troops, currently serving our country in Afghanistan will have returned home.

The return of those troops will reduce the number of U.S. forces in Afghanistan by one half. We've been hearing about this for some time now and The White House has made a decision on the range of troop levels to remain in Afghanistan. Once the combat mission officially comes to an end by late 2014, we'll have as many as 15,000 troops in Afghanistan to none at all. This is what many Americans have hoped for over the last decade. As you may expect, this is not what many Americans want to see as well.
