Indulge in One of These 5 Goodies at the New York State Fair This Year

One of the best things about the Great New York State Fair is all the delicious treats and unique foods they offer. Here are the top snacks you should make time for.

Mexican Street Corn - New to the state fair this year, this tasty treat is a mixture of spicy, tangy, sweet, and delicious. According to a post on The Great New York State Fair's Facebook Page,

...The Fresh Roasted Corn Stands have taken roasted corn, a fair favorite, and transformed it with a mixture of mayonnaise, queso cotija, spicy seasoning and a hint of lime...

Sounds pretty fantastic, right?! It's definitely a twist on corn-on-the-cob. Make sure you at least give this treat a try during your visit to the state fair this year.

Bacon Jalapeno Macaroni and Cheese Fritter - Do we even need to give you a reason to try this? Number one, bacon. Number two, macaroni and cheese. Add in the spicy bite of the jalapenos and throw it all together in a fried breading. You can try this delicious masterpiece during the Taste NY Food Truck Competition on Saturday, September 2nd. It will be available at Tonzi's Catering Company of Auburn.

Milky Bun - This is another new treat to the New York State Fair. It's a donut sliced in half. In between the two halves is ice cream and toppings. Oh, and you get to choose the ice cream and toppings you want inside of it. It's heated and then more toppings are added to it. Try this treat at the "Dairy Barn."

Deep Fried Peanut Butter and Jelly - Peanut butter and jelly is already a unique combination on its own, but it has become a childhood favorite for generations. So how do improve on an already perfect sandwich? Well... you deep fry it. Because, why not? Everything's better when you deep fry it right?! So peanut butter and jelly would be no different.

Anything Wrapped in Bacon - Again, we don't really need to explain this, everything is better with bacon. And the Great New York State Fair is home to so many unique and delicious cooked and fried foods, you're sure to find many, MANY vendors serving up treats wrapped in bacon. Actually, it doesn't even have to be wrapped in bacon. Just something with bacon in it, or on it. What I'm trying to say is have some bacon at the state fair, that's all.

BONUS: Taco Fries - So you don't have to go to the New York State Fair to try this delicious treat, but if you DO get them at the state fair you could help out a Rome Food Truck get the recognition it deserves.
