So you're planning your big day. You know about all the popular wedding venues in the area. Maybe they're all booked, or maybe your just looking for something different. Let's explore some offbeat, alternate locations for weddings in Central New York.

This is quickly becoming a popular destination for weddings in the area. The barn has been elegantly transformed into a comfortable space for weddings of all sizes. And it's off the beaten path in Oneida, NY. It was even ranked as one of the top 3 rustic barns to get married at in the state according to New York Upstate.

Harding Farm in Clinton is a cozy bed and breakfast on a working farm. From inside to outside, this beautiful farm house and the picturesque grounds make it a really nice place for out of town family to stay if you're looking for something other than hotel rooms. We have learned that they will no longer be hosting weddings though.

Dibbles Inn in Vernon has been a Central New York wedding staple for a long, long time. They've gone through some extensive upgrades and have remained a great venue for weddings. Their Facebook page has lots of information about upcoming bridal shows and tips for newly engaged couples.

If you're looking for something different, but barns aren't quite your thing, this little gem in Waterville might be for you. They say they offer "old world elegance and stunning Central New York views". The decked out greenhouse looks like a perfect setting for a wedding anytime of the year. Greenhouse Gala will also be hosting a bridal expo in early March.

It's coming! "Cabin Fever Bridal Expo" Sunday, March 5th, 2017 from 12pm-4pm here at Greenhouse Gala! Vendors who would like to participate pls contact Tisha@greenhousegala.com (Greenhouse Gala via Facebook)

Yes, that's right. You can have your wedding at the Zoo, even if you're not a local celebrity. Just imagine the wedding photo opportunities! The Utica Zoo has lots of equipment and services to offer along with the unique surroundings. They have a page on their website with all the details and prices.  Find out all about it here.

It's already been done, but I guess you could probably make some calls and try to arrange your own nuptials at the Aud at an upcoming Utica Comets game.

There are golf courses, farms, greenhouses, parks, baseball fields and tons of other non-traditional sites that you could use for your wedding or special event in Central New York. If you can dream it, you can do it!
