Running Isn’t Scary: The Boolermaker at the Utica Zoo
No, we didn't have a typo in the title, the event is called the "Boolermaker," and it's nothing to be frightened about.
What is the Boolermaker?
It's a Halloween fun-run at the Utica Zoo for the kids. There will be different distances for kids of different ages and abilities (between the ages of 4 - 12)
Why "Boolermaker?"
Well, the event is being put on by the Boliermaker Urban Initiative and it's Halloween-themed. Seems like the perfect name to combine the two.
How Much Does It Cost?
FREE! Now there's no excuse not to get the little ones out to the Utica Zoo for some fresh air and a little exercise. Plus, your registration includes one adult and one kid admission into the Utica Zoo (so you can visit all the animals after the run), and a runner's gift bag.
When Is It?
Saturday, October 14th. Check in will begin at 9am, with the races starting at 10am. You'll see signs and volunteers showing you where to go once you arrive at the zoo.
Do I Have to Sign My Kids Up or Pre-Register?
Yes, the Utica Zoo does ask that you pre-register, seeing as there is only room for 200 kids to participate. You can register by visiting: UticaZoo.org/Boolermaker
Fall officially starts at the end of this week, and soon Halloween will be here (crazy, how fast time flies). Why not make the most of this time of the year, and enjoy a wonderful day out with the kids at the Utica Zoo. Throw in a little exercise, the opportunity to see all the animals at the zoo for free, AND some goodies and activities for the whole family? Sounds like a pretty nice Saturday in Central New York.
