Earth Day is Saturday, April 30. What will you do to celebrate? The Utica Zoo has teamed up with Oneida-Herkimer Solid Waste Authority, and you're invited to the party. 

Celebrate Earth Day at the Utica Zoo Saturday, April 30th, 2016 from 11 am to 3 pm. Gates open at 10 am.

Parents, plant a tree with the kids.The first 50 families receive a free pine sapling. Smokey the Bear will be on hand, as well as animal meet and greets. Enjoy children's activities and games

  • Free paper shredding by Empire Recycling from 10 am to 1 pm. Bring your old files.
  • Central New York Conservancy will be planting trees at the Zoo to commemorate Arbor Day.
  • Folk singer/songwriter Peggy Lynn will be performing her interactive bio-songs at 11:30 am and 2:00 pm.
  • Test your recycling knowledge at the Oneida-Herkimer Solid Waste Authority recycling relay.
  • Voss’ food and drink stand will be open from 11 am to 4:30 pm serving hotdogs, hamburgers, and all the local favorites! (Cash only. ATM on site)
  • Earth Day Booths: 4-H, Adirondack Museum, Bardwell Farms, Candy Jar Confections, CNY Conservancy, Huckleberry Hill Soap Co., Mr. Nutty,
  • Regular zoo admission applies. Free for Utica Zoo members.

Becoming a member at the Utica Zoo is easy and beneficial!  Members visit more frequently and attend more zoo events. Increased membership numbers help with applying for grants. Grant money and donations help pay for upgrades at the Utica Zoo. Upgrades will eventually lead to AZA accreditation.
