Central New York Teachers Kiss the School Year ‘Bye Bye Bye’ in Song
A group of teachers in the Whitney Point Central School District, which is halfway between Cortland and Binghamton, are going viral with an original song that parodies the popular *NYSYNC tune "Bye Bye Bye."
Their spoof, titled "BYE BYE BYE" TEACHER EDITION, is an homage to the end of the school year, and includes references to students, tests, and the upcoming summer vacation. It was uploaded to YouTube Tuesday by Jenny Gac, a music teacher at the school, and the lead singer and boomwhacker player out front in the video below.
Some of the parody lyrics:
Don't wanna grade no more
I just want a pool or a sandy shore
Drink in hand, no clouds in the sky
Baby bye bye bye
The video is inspired by the antics of late-night talk show host Jimmy Fallon and his house band The Roots, who've made a regular feature of sending up popular songs, using children's instruments.
