Freezing Rain Could Cause Hazardous Conditions in Utica and Rome
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for parts of Central New York, including the cities of Utica and Rome.
Use extra caution heading into work today, as freezing rain, beginning as early as 7am could lead to a hazardous and slippery commute.
The Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Madison and Southern Oneida counties,
including the cities of Hamilton, Oneida, Rome, and Utica.

7 PM EST THIS EVENING...
* WHAT...Freezing rain expected. Total ice accumulations of a
light glaze are expected.
* WHERE...Madison and Southern Oneida Counties.
* WHEN...From 7 AM this morning to 7 PM EST this evening. The best
chance of freezing rain will be late morning into early
afternoon.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The ice will result in very slippery
conditions on sidewalks, roads and bridges, including during
the morning commute.

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of freezing rain
will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads.
