Back in January, we let you in on the little inside scoop about this board game café in Little Falls. Now, "Meeples Mug House" is celebrating it's opening day this coming Saturday!

Laura Powers, Little Falls resident and co-owner of the café (along with her husband, Matt) says the name came from the combination of the two things they will be focusing on - Games and Coffee. "Meeples" comes from a game of Carcassonne, where a player fused the words "my" and "people" to describe the wooden pieces used in the game.

Matt started working to make this a reality less than a year ago, and now the time has come to open their doors.

"Meeples Mug House" features a game library of over 100 different options. They will also have a variety of beverages- with locally sourced Moose River coffee, grilled cheese paninis, soft drinks, soup and chili and mug cakes (and just by looking at the menu, it all sounds DELICIOUS! I'm gonna have to get multiple mug cake flavors.)

The café may be adding adult beverages to the menu as well. Powers is working toward securing a tavern license to eventually offer craft beer and wine.

Guests will have the opportunity play their game library for a cost of $2 with purchase or $4 without. Children ages 8 and younger can play for $1.

“Whether it’s an outing with friends, an afternoon with family, date night, or special occasion, "Meeples Mug House" will be a good fit. Stop by before heading to the movies, or dinner at one of the many delicious restaurants in town," Matt Powers said. "Make it a night out in Little Falls!”

So from me to you, definitely stop by for a visit and say hello! The grand opening celebration is taking place on Saturday starting at 2 pm!  Have a cup of coffee, play a game or build a puzzle.

You'll find "Meeples Mug House" at 598 East Main Street in Little Falls. The Café will be open weekly 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, 5 to 10 p.m. Friday, 2 to 10 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday.

You can also keep updated on the new cafe, by following their Facebook Page: Meeples Mug House and on their website.

I love me some board games, so you bet I'll be there in the near future!
