Hurricane Florence is a massive storm, bringing several inches of rain and dangerous flooding to the Carolinas, but how will the storm affect Central New York?

The National Weather Service has already issued a 'Hazardous Weather Outlook' for the area, anticipating that the remnants of Florence will be felt as far away as Central New York. The remnants of the storm will bring heavy rain, with the potential for flooding.

According to the National Weather Service,

Heavy rain from the remnants of Florence is possible late Monday
into Tuesday. It is too early to say if flooding will result from the
rain. Be sure to monitor the forecast the next few days for updates
on the potential for flooding, as details become clearer.

As we watch and wait for the full impact of Hurricane Florence on the Carolinas and Virginia to fully unfold, we should also be mindful of the potential for effects  - including the potential for flooding to be felt here. The NWS outlook includes nearly every county in Central New York and northern Pennsylvania.
