Raspberry Kiss Valentine’s Cocktail: Beth & Dave Try
There are lots of ways to celebrate Valentine's Day. Cards. Flowers. Candy. Lingerie. And, fun adult beverages are aways nice. So, we got some tips from a professional on making a special Valentine's Day cocktail called a Raspberry Kiss.
We went to John Devereux's Tavern (formerly known as "the Dev") and got a lesson in mixology from Central New York superstar bartender Tim Starsiak. As you'll see in our video, Tim made it look relatively easy to concoct a Raspberry Kiss. Here are the ingredients:
- Vanilla Vodka (2 oz.)
- Creme de Cassis or Chambord (1 oz.)
- Godiva White Chocolate Liqueur (1 oz.)
- Heavy Cream (1/2 oz.)
- Fresh raspberries
Shake it up with some ice, then pour through a strainer into a glass, add a toothpick with two or three raspberries as a garnish...and enjoy.
If you go to John Devereux's Tavern at 37 Devereux Street in Utica and enjoy one of these from Tim, say hi for us. If you make 'em at home, you don't have to worry about a designated driver.
Cheers and happy romancing on Valentine's Day.
Oh, by the way, John Devereux was an Irishman who emigrated to the U.S. and became Utica's first mayor in 1840. He and his brother founded Utica Savings Bank.
And if you haven't had a chance to visit the newly remodeled digs at John Devereux's Tavern, with its cool wooden and brass-appointed atmosphere, lunch and dinner, you should check it out.
