Severe Weather, Possible Tornadoes in Central New York July 3, 2014

A strong line of thunderstorms brought wind damage and possible tornadoes to portions of Central New York.

There have been social media reports of trees down and other wind damage along the US 20 corridor in communities like West Winfield, Brookfield and Richfield Springs. The photo above was taken in Richfield Springs. There are also damage reports along the NYS Thurway corridor in the St Johnsville and Fort Plain areas.

The National Weather Service in Albany issued a tornado warning for southern Herkimer County this is active until 5PM EDT.
