Today (June 12) will always be an incredibly special day to me, and no it's not a marriage anniversary, or an anniversary for dating someone. This is big. The day my entire life changed - for the better!
Last week Eric Meier was nominated for the "Aircheck Challenge," and after watching his video (which was hilarious), I figured I would join in on the fun!
I was challenged by my friend John Riggs in Yakima to take the Aircheck Challenge, where radio folks listen to a recording of the first time they were on the air.
My radio career started out as an unpaid intern for a morning radio show in Buffalo NY. While I studied broadcasting at SUCB, I also did a college radio show which lead to my employment. I expected to be paid then. I only anticipated college credit for interning. That's not the case for this unpaid ex-intern.
As radio personalities we often get phone calls from regular listeners who consider us their friends. We consider this a huge compliment. One such listener is named Hussein and he really enjoyed being a guest disc jockey on Most Music Morning Show.
The annual list of best and worst jobs is out. Mathematician leads the list. At the bottom of the list is the life-and-limb-losing prone career of lumberjack. But just a scant 4 spots from the bottom of the list is my chosen career, broadcaster.

The news of Kidd Kraddick's passing sent a massive shock wave of sadness around the broadcasting community. Being a radio morning personality myself, I can identify with his friends, family and listeners who feel a tremendous loss. Also the beneficiaries of the extensive charitable endeavors Kidd participated in over the years. It appears we have lost an icon at the young age of (not yet) 54 due i
