The 2021 Utica Pierogi Eating Champion Ate How Many In 3 Minutes?
It's honestly the most exciting three minutes of the entire weekend: everyone is cheering you on, the adrenaline is pumping and several people are all shoving pierogi down the back of their throat.
The Utica Polish Community Club held their annual Polish Days celebration this past weekend and it is always amazing to see the turnout of people coming to experience their notable Pierogi Eating Contest.
In three minutes, he ate 26 potato and cheese pierogi, just missing the Polish Community Club record by two. Back in 2018, Jason Narolis of Rome ate 28 in three minutes.
What's the best part about Harman winning? After the three minutes was up, he continued eating the pierogi and was seen chowing down a kielbasa sandwich less than a half hour after the contest. And he was mixing the provided water and his pre-purchased beer to wash the pierogi down during the contest. Talk about dedication!
He also took home a cash prize and the bragging rights for the year.
Is this something you'd like to participate in? The good news is that it happens each and every year at Polish Days. If you follow their Facebook page, they set up an event with the registration forms and all of the important information you'll need to get yourself signed up.
You can start your training by visiting the Polish Community Club at 810 Columbia Street in Utica on Thursdays and Fridays. They serve Polish food on Thursday and Seafood dinners on Fridays, but have their famous pierogi both nights.
