If you had to name a "food crime" that everyone in our state would agree with, what would you say it is?

Thanks to the people at Hater, a dating app that connects people with things they dislike, we have a wonderful map of the United States with the most hated food in each state. Some of the states' most hated foods are just regular items like chicken nuggets (for New Mexico), Flaming Cheetos (for Colorado), hummus (for Kentucky), and cottage cheese (for North Carolina). But a few of the states' hated foods are more like food crimes, or food that you should never eat with other foods. For example, Massachusetts most hated food (according to Hater), was "Mayonnaise on fries."

So for New York, we think it's more of a food crime rather than just a hated food. Do you think you know what it is? We'll give you a hint... It has to do with pizza.

According to Hater, New York's most hated food is ranch on pizza.

Now, I don't really agree that ranch on pizza is the most hated food in New York, or even that it's a food crime, but I can understand the thought behind this. When you order a pizza, do you get a side of ranch with it? It's not something you see a lot of. Actually, a lot of what I see (at least in the Central New York area) is people getting a mild sauce with their pizza. That's something I never saw before moving out here a few years ago.

On the flip side of that, according to Hater, Michigan's (where I'm originally from) most hated food is cold pizza. Who doesn't like cold pizza?! That's definitely not true.

So what do you think? Are they right? Is ranch on pizza the most hated food in New York? Is it a food crime? Or are there far worse foods and food crimes in our state? Let us know what you think.
