If you are one of many Verizon or Sprint customers that was overcharged due to a third-party text messaging service, the deadline is running out for you to claim your share in the $158 Million settlement from mobile "cramming."

The deadline to make your claim is December 31st and according to a CNBC article,

The settlement followed an investigation that found Verizon and Sprint charged customers millions of dollars for premium third-party text message services. The companies typically levied fees of $9.99 a month for the services, according to the Federal Communication Commission (FCC). Services such as astrology, celebrity gossip, and sports tips were included in fine print, according to NBC News.

The article goes on to say that Verizon and Sprint kept 30% of unauthorized fees they billed. To claim the refund, customers must file a claim on the refund websites for Sprint and Verizon. If you are eligible, make your claim so these mobile services can be held accountable for their actions.
