Verona Beach Closed To Swimming Due to Toxic Algae Blooms
Toxic algae blooms have led to the closure of Verona Beach, according to the New York State Parks Department.
The New York State Parks Department says the beach in Verona has been closed to swimming since mid-July due to toxic algae blooms. Blue-green algae can sicken humans, and can be fatal for pets.
The beach is still open for sunbathing, and the splash pad is also still open.
It is unknown when the beach will re-open.
