If the name doesn't give you a clue, this new roller coaster is going to be out of this world. Here's everything you need to know about 'Tantrum,' coming to Darien Lake.

News broke earlier in November that Darien Lake was planning on building a new coaster to be ready next summer (2018). Well, it looks like the plans have been approved and now we're getting a first look at this top-thrill coaster.

The coaster will take you straight-up: As in a 90-degree angle, straight to the top (98 feet up in the air), before throwing you into a ridiculous drop.

...Speaking of a ridiculous drop: 'Tantrum' will drop riders at a 97-degree angle. That means that track bends back inward before smoothing out.

Other extreme features on this coaster: According to the Darien Lake Facebook Page,

...Reaching speeds of 52 mph, the coaster snakes through the structure over a bunny hop, keeps riders wondering which way is up or down during an Immelman turn, and finishes with a tilted loop.

Darien Lake's Facebook Page also mentions there is a "pretzel inversion" right after your crazy 97-degree drop.

We can continue to give you a bunch of stats and information on this roller coaster, but there's just something more satisfying by actually seeing what you can expect. Luckily, Darien Lake has released a video of the new coaster, which you can see at the top of this page. Go ahead, check it out... We'll wait.

Pretty cool, right? This is definitely a great addition to Darien Lake and the perfect amount of thrills for the whole family. It's steep, it has some crazy inversions, but it's not record-breaking high or fast. Just a great balance of both worlds. If you're looking for the fastest and tallest don't worry, Darien Lake is also home to the "Ride of Steel" which IS the fastest and tallest coaster in all of New York. And if you haven't rode it before, trust us, it's a high-thrill, exciting coaster. You can ride in next summer while you're checking out the new coaster, "Tantrum."
