Beth and I made a wager recently over a round of golf. Never mind for now what MY side of the bet was, but SHE had to pay up by watching an entire classic movie of my choice--and there are a LOT if them she hasn't seen. They're either too sad or too old or whatever.

First of all, the ground rules, based on some of her bad habits: (A) no cell phone to distract her during the film, as she has a tendency to surf while watching a movie at home, and (B) no checking the end of the movie ahead of time, which she also can't seem to avoid.

Now, on to the selection of the movie to be finalized on the Beth & Dave Morning Radio Show on Lite 98.7. Here's a VERY brief list (in no particular order) of some top movies--according to actors, critics and audiences--that Beth has never seen:

  • Rear Window
  • One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
  • Dog Day Afternoon
  • Inglorious Basterds
  • Aliens
  • Grand Canyon
  • Parenthood
  • Platoon
  • Network
  • The Sting
  • Breaker Morant

Which ones are "must-see" for Beth? What other titles would you add?

Oh, by the way, our golf bet was a tie, so it was HER idea that we should both "pay up." For the record, I already delivered on my end: eating ice cream with her on a night that I didn't want ice cream.
