In Mike Posner's latest hit, he mentions 'Ibiza.' What is this 'Ibiza' he's talking about? We searched the web to figure it out.

Have you ever heard of it? If not, don't feel bad. Ibiza has only recently become really popular and it's more popular for those in the club and dance scene. Mike Posner, singer of "Cooler Than Me," mentions it in his latest song "I Took a Pill in Ibiza."

This "Ibiza" he's talking about is actually a place. It's an island in the Mediterranean Sea just off the coast of Spain. Ibiza is a huge tourist destination, mainly now for its nightlife and party atmosphere. According to Wikipedia,

During the summer, the top producers and DJs in dance come to the island and play at the various clubs, in between touring to other international destinations. Some of the most famous DJs run their own weekly nights around the island. Many of these DJs use Ibiza as an outlet for presenting new songs within the house, trance and techno genres of electronic dance music.

In Posner's new song he says, "I took a pill in Ibiza, to show Avicii I was cool" - Which is pretty much saying he took drugs in a party city so he would look good. Although that may turn off a lot of people to the song (especially because it's the first line), it's actually kind of sad. Listen to the song and listen to the lyrics closely, you'll notice it.

Below is the video to Mike Posner's "I Took a Pill in Ibiza." This version is the original one (the remix version that has the 'trance' sound to it is actually more popular). Check it out for yourself:
