98 Seconds with Naomi Lynn: New York’s Favorite Holiday Candy
The holiday season is here, which means holiday candies are available. But which one do New Yorkers go for the most?
There's a new interactive map for CandyStore.com that names the top three holiday candies in every state. Candies like peppermint bark, candy canes, reindeer corn (which is just Christmas colored candy corn), chocolate Santas, Hershey's kisses, and items like that.
But some of the candies on the list don't seem like they're for the holidays, like Jolly Ranchers, which was the number one holiday candy in Illinois. And same is true for New York's favorite holiday candy.
According to CandyStore.com, New York's third favorite holiday candy is Pez. Candy canes came in second. And number one on the list...
Skittles.
Now, don't get me wrong, I love skittles, but I don't usually categorize them as a "holiday" candy, even if it's their holiday mix pack. Shouldn't our number one answer be something a little more festive. Even red and green M&Ms would be a better fit for our state.
I couldn't be the only one who felt this way, so for this week's "98 Seconds Video" I asked a few of my coworkers. First I asked them what they thought New York's favorite holiday candy would be. Then I broke the news that it was Skittles and waited for their reaction, which you can see in the video (at the top of this page).
So what do you think? Are Skittles a good representation of New York's favorite holiday candy? Or do you think it should be something like peppermint bark, chocolate Santas, or Hershey's kisses? Let us know, you can leave us a comment or message on our Lite 98.7 Facebook Page.
