Fun. Fundraising for At-Risk LGBTQ Youth
Talk about good clean Fun. The band is raising money to aid at-risk LGBTQ youth in Detroit, and they're doing it in a big way.
Billboard reports that the 'We Are Young' trio announced on Friday (Jan. 17) that they will raise cash via their Ally Foundation. Where will that money go? The band wants to build a community health center in the Ruth Ellis Center, which provides housing, meals, medical help and even clothes to needy LGBTQ teens.
The Ally Foundation was co-founded by guitarist Jack Antonoff's fashion designer sister, Rachel Antonoff.
It's not the band's first foray into helo for LGBTQ communities. They previously spoke out in favor of gay marriage. It's also not their first charitable move towards young people. They visited New York Presbyterian Hospital to perform an acoustic set for kids. So much Fun!
