Big Benefit For CNY House Explosion Survivors
We told you recently about the explosion that destroyed three homes in Little Falls, including the one belonging to Shawn and Richelle Devereese, sister of Showtime singer Justin Smithson (above). The music community in particular and the Mohawk Valley community overall are coming together to help.
Sunday, April 8 at 1:00 PM at the Crowley-Barnum American Legion in Mohawk, four all-star Central New York bands--Showtime, Gridley Paige, Last Left, Grit & Grace--are joining forces like musical Avengers to entertain and help raise funds.
Here are the details from Showtime's Facebook post about the explosion and the benefit:
On February 14, 2018 an unprecedented Explosion happened on West Main Street in the city of Little Falls, the result was catastrophic to the families. What the destruction of a fire brings to a family’s hopes and dreams is devastating. There are many years of struggles and sacrifices to make their house a home cannot be replaced. The trauma of losing everything is not only emotionally overwhelming but financially shattering. Entry: $10. Children 10 and under free.
Along with the great music, there will be great food and a Chinese auction.
