It's great that The Fitness Mill offers some great morning classes, but first, you need to know how to get up early in the morning and get to the gym.

Now, I am definitely not a personal trainer - and I don't have any advice for you when it comes to getting in shape (except maybe don't eat that third donut). What I do know about is getting up early. When you work in morning radio - that alarm clock (aka cell phone) goes off really early - like 3AM early. So how do I drag myself out of bed?

Here are 3 things you can do to make a huge difference:

1. I remind myself WHY I'm getting out of bed. For me, an extra snooze means my morning quickly turns into a dumpster fire - rushing, panicking, and general disorganization. For you, getting to the gym means future you will feel good that you got that workout in. After a while, future you will fit into those pants, will be able to run up a flight of stairs, or feels more flexible and strong - but only if you get out of bed.

2. Put your alarm clock (aka cell phone) far away. Like across the room. Or in the bathroom. That way, you have to get out of bed to turn it off. And then, whatever you do, do not go back to bed - you've already done the hard part - don't blow it!

3. Get enough sleep. Call me Captain Obvious, but you've got to get to sleep at a reasonable time if you want to get up early. There's no way around it. At least when you have your phone on the other side of the room, you won't be tempted to scroll through Facebook for hours.

That's it. Take these 3 steps - and you'll be headed to the gym for that 5:30AM class in no time!
