Movie Director Called Ryan Gosling “Not Handsome Or Cool”

Who is one of the hottest men in Hollywood?  Ryan Gosling.  He's all over the tabloids, with talk not just of what films he's in but who's he's dating this week.  However, that wasn't always his image,  at least according to one director.

Back in 2004, Ryan was trying to break into the movie business.  While auditioning for "The Notebook,"  the director, Nick Cassavetes, told him he was just a regular guy.  Ryan says Cassavates said, " I want you to play this role because you're not like the other young actors out there in Hollywood.  You're not handsome, you're not cool, you're just a regular guy who looks a bit nuts."    Guess it worked because Ryan got the role and the rest is history.  Wonder what that director would say now?
