It was a chilly day on Saturday for a walk, but that didn't stop a wonderful crowd of people from coming out, and supporting the T.E.A.L. Walk in Whitesboro.

Saturday morning, a group of great people came out to the Whitestown Town Park to show their support for the T.E.A.L Walk - a walk that raises awareness and support for Ovarian Cancer.

Before the walk kicked off, it was a special moment for the ovarian cancer survivors that participated in the walk. They were given a flower - symbolizing hope. It was a very heart-touching moment. Not only that, but Sarah Frisching (the brains behind this walk), explained why this cause was so important to her - having a family member who was diagnosed with the disease.

You don't hear a lot about ovarian cancer, it's one of those diseases that people aren't that aware of, even though it will kill an estimated 14,000 women in the U.S. this year. But with the help of organizations and groups like the T.E.A.L. Walk, hopefully awareness will be raised, and lives can be saved.

Not only was it a good turnout for the Whitesboro T.E.A.L. Walk, but the group beat their goal of raising $2500. The walk actually was able to raise $3305, and it's still counting up! It was a great walk of Saturday, and for a great cause. Hopefully next year will be even bigger and raise more awareness for women's health.
