Winter weather has officially begun as the holiday rush gets underway in the Greater Utica area, and that means road conditions need to always be monitored. Utica Police are warning people to be especially careful as they are responding to dozens of accidents throughout the city.

New York drivers are being warned to keep their eyes on the road following a historic surge in deer-related accidents.

The major winter storm hitting New York with snow and ice is causing hundreds of accidents. New York State Police are asking everyone to stay off the roads.

After the accident and gas spill Tuesday afternoon, we researched other wrecks that have happened in Central New York. Combing the archives of FultonHistory.com, we came across several big stories from the 1960's-1970's.

Kane Buss had dreams of being a police officer. He was set to graduate college in May and enroll in the police academy. Those dreams were cut short when he was tragically killed in a car crash. To honor his memory, the Oneida City Police Department made him an honorary officer.
