I decided to research some ways to get my work outs in at work, since I spend so much of my time there. Here's what I found.

Because I'm filming a series of videos about recycling for the Oneida-Herkimer Recycling Center, I got to visit the center for a tour. First of all, it's not at all what I expected

"Water pie is a sweet pie made with just six ingredients: water, flour, sugar, vanilla extract, butter, and a pie crust. Like other recipes that originated during the Great Depression, water pie stretches a handful of ingredients by turning them into something substantial."

So. The lights in my kitchen are still flickering in the morning before I go to work. They still don't flicker any other time of day. It's still weird. And I still don't feel any closer to having any sort of resolution about it.

I suppose I could grow a small container garden on our apartment balcony. I suppose one tomato plant is better than none. And maybe I will. Or maybe, I'll have time (I don't) to take my Townsquare co-workers up on their offer to start an office garden. Who knows. My point is, the title of this post is "5 Things I'm Planting in my Imaginary Garden". And right now I don't have an actual garden so, we'll stay with the theme. I've added pictures from my actual gardens past, just because.

Husband, Teenager, baby kitty and I have been living in Utica for about ten months now. And yet, I've discovered there are a few things I miss from living in the Philly Metro area. I put together a list of 10. This is part 2. :)

I’m happy in Utica. Everyone I’ve met so far seems super nice, produce in our local market looks good, there are local farms-a-plenty if I’m feeling jiggy, a whole ski resort in a neighborhood park up the street, a zoo, cute restaurants of every sort, a health food store, a decent Target and a TJ Maxx. What else shall I want? After ten months here, it turns out there are a few things I miss. Here are my first 5 (of 10).

Lite 98.7 Utica has a new morning show and a new co-host. For weeks, Townsquare Media veteran, Dave Wheeler has been talking to a mysterious, supposedly nameless voice before Lite 98.7 launched its new morning show called Best Morning on Monday March 27, 2023. The mysterious, supposedly nameless voice has been revealed to be Philadelphia Metro Area transplant, Envy McKee.

My dad passed in May of 2022. Even though I was with my dad the day that he died, I do not feel like he visited me after his passing, as he promised he would. We had a deal.

8 years ago around this time, I created a fast. I had done 21 day fasts like Dr. Alejandro Junger's CLEAN program for several years first. I liked Dr. Junger's program. But I felt like I needed something a bit more nourishing for more than my body. I felt like I needed a fast that considered the journey my mind and spirit would be going through also. I couldn't find anything. So I made something up. And I called it what I wanted to experience through doing it-- 40 Days and 40 Nights (So I Can Be Great). I know, not subtle. :) Looking back, I probably would have challenged myself to find a different--maybe shorter- name...but it is what it is now. If you have any ideas, I'm open.
