New York State officials gave school districts the option to convert their snow days to virtual days back in September, but the Madison Central School District will not be replacing theirs.
The New York State Education Department is looking at a plan to get rid of snow days for thousands of schoolchildren across the state, including the Utica-Rome area.
With education moving at least partially to the online space in the Utica area, do we really need snow days anymore? The answer, in my opinion: HELL YES.
You may think you can't predict snow days or 2 hour delays, but ask your kids. They probably have a few foolproof ways to make sure they get a day off.
