When it comes to deciding what to eat in our Small Town Eats adventures, we usually leave it up to the chefs or owners or just let the menu dictate our choice. Ultimately, we want to sample the best each restaurant has to offer. The specialty of the house. The diner's choice.

One of the staples is the All-American Central New York cheeseburger. We've sampled a few of them and thought we'd give you the best in class that we've tried. Here are the Top 3 Burgers (So Far) in Beth & Dave's Small Town Eats:

The Beaver Den Diner, pride of Brookfield, features the triple-decker bacon cheeseburger, standing tall on the left:

Crazy Otto's Empire Diner, on the corner of State and Main streets in Herkimer, is an institution, well-known for its omelettes and this bacon cheeseburger with onion rings:

Kylie's Diner in West Winfield has a big hit with its Bovine Burger, featuring a special Thousand Island-style sauce:
