The Nearest Drive-In Theaters To Utica and Rome – Our Closest Five

Located in the Mid Mohawk Valley community of Palatine Bridge, the El Rancho was opened in 1953. It's a single screen drive-in that shows movies each Friday and Saturday during the season. The El Rancho is right on Route 5.

The Valley Brook is located in the north county in the Lewis County village of Lyon Falls. They run a single screen and draw their crowds from Boonville and Lowville.

The Ozoner 29 Twin is a sister theater to the El Rancho in Palatine Bridge. It's name is derived from being located on NYS Route 29 in the southern Adirondack village of Boadalbin. The Ozoner, like our West Rome Drive-In is a twin screened drive-in and shows 2 different double features each weekend.

Located on Route 7 in Unadilla, this drive-in is also a single screen theater. Located just 12 miles east of Oneonta, you can make it a true throw-back evening by visiting the Oneonta Dairy Queen, the lone DQ outlet remaining in Central New York State. And with outdoor service only, the DQ certainly has that vintage feel you're looking for when going to the drive-in.

The final drive-in on our list is the Malta Drive-in of Balston Spa. Located on US 9 in southern Saratoga County, the Malta serves as the drive-in theatre for the Capitol District. Double features are shown on each of the two screens every weekend and the colorful sign is an easy landmark to follow off of the Northway.
