Think people aren't going out to eat much because they can't afford it?  Think again.  According to a new dining out survey from Mandala Research, Americans are eating out alot.  The average American eats out 4.8 times a week.

Forget cooking.  We'd rather have somebody else do that for us, especially during the busy workday.  What's the most popular meal for eating out?  That would be lunchtime and includes carryout and dining in, followed by sit-down dinners  and then brunch.  Of the four thousand people surveyed, sixty-five percent chose Italian as their top cuisine pick, sixty-two percent picked Mexican, fifty-nine percent said  Chinese and fifty-eight percent chose pizza.  Thai cuisine is definitely increasing in popularity.  It beat out twenty-five other types of cuisine as the type of new restaurant most people had tried recently.  How often do you dine out?  Have you cut back because of the economy?
