Rochester-based Wegmans grocery store is supporting the first responders who faced the protests and demonstrations in Charlottesville, VA this weekend.

In a viral Facebook post, the Metro Richmond Fire Incidents page said:

If you google "Wegmans founder" the image that comes back says "Never think about yourself, always help others".

Yesterday, When I walked into their Charlottesville store at 11:45, I had the intention of grabbing two pizzas, a couple drinks, and running back out. Feeding our Logistics staff at base camp and whatever officers were within walking distance was the goal. When I left, it was with a vehicle full of hot food, chips, and drinks, DONATED!

...No matter what evil events take place in the world, there will always be acts of service & kindness that rise up and triumph over it.

The Wegmans in Charlottesville donated food to show their appreciation for the men and women first responders who kept the community safe from the violence in their city.

It's great to see a company supporting those who risk so much to keep us safe in the face of violence and racism.
