There's a LOT of snow outside right now and it's actually starting to feel like December. Maybe you or your kids partook in a snow day today, maybe you're working from home or maybe you're bearing the roads and the cold working in the office like usual.

Hot Cocoa is something that I drink all the time. I'm cold quite frequently, and obviously it's worse for me in the winter time. You can catch me with a nice cup of cocoa, snuggled up on the couch with my favorite blanket to get warm.

I've been trying to find the best recipe for making the most amazing cup, and after years of searching and testing and I believe I have found one worth sharing. It comes from AllRecipes.com and is absolutely delicious.

First, there's a few ingredients you will need. You may already have them laying around the house.

Ingredient Checklist

Once you've gathered what you need, it's time to start! Here's the exact recipe courtesy of All Recipes.

Combine the cocoa, sugar and pinch of salt in a saucepan. Blend in the boiling water. Bring this mixture to an easy boil while you stir. Simmer and stir for about 2 minutes. Watch that it doesn't scorch. Stir in 3 1/2 cups of milk and heat until very hot, but do not boil! Remove from heat and add vanilla. Divide between 4 mugs. Add the cream to the mugs of cocoa to cool it to drinking temperature.

I always add a personal touch: which is some whipped cream on top and some chocolate/caramel drizzle. It's not needed, but it makes it that much more cozy. And voila! Some amazing hot cocoa is ready to be enjoyed.

You can always add something different to spice it up: a candy cane, marshmallows, )a little bit of Bailey's maybe?)....whatever floats your boat!
